If you want something, you’ve got to reach out and grab it. If you want a healthy and happy relationship, you can sit around complaining that you don’t have one, or you can REACH for a better one. With a little awareness and a new perspective, you may find that better relationship you’re looking for right there in your old relationship – without ever having to look elsewhere. Try these five-steps for relationships success; and REACH for the kind of relationship you truly want:

Recognize that your relationship could be better with more knowledge, wisdom, attention, or effort.

Eliminate distractions and obstacles to the success of your relationship and to your efforts to improve it.

Appreciate and respect your partner, their goals, values, history, presence, and perspective.

Create new thoughts, words, actions, habits, and visions for the future success of your relationship.

Have fun learning about and living with your partner and relationships. Play and do fun things together.

If you recognize where you are and where you’re going, you are already on your way. By eliminating the things that are keeping you stuck in the past, and supercharging your partnership with the appreciation and gratitude relationships are built with, you can easily create wonderful new thought patterns and habits to shape a more fun and enjoyable future for your relationship. Life is about love, happiness, and fun. Certainly there are other things in life; but those things are only to remind us to appreciate the love, happiness, and fun that are in our essential nature.

To improve your relationship, start each day by reminding yourself to REACH for the relationship you want. Then, take each opportunity to do something new and different, or something you love; create new things, and joy, in your relationship. When you have made a habit out of keeping your relationship fresh, happy, and interesting, your relationship will improve dramatically. All it takes is a lot of attention and a little effort to create a truly successful relationship that continues to grow and evolve.
