CYRES Cafe Serves-Up More Enlightenment in the Latest Institute of Noetic Sciences "One-Minute Shift" Contest

Our dear friends at CYRES Cafe have done it again — receiving another Second-Place award for their latest entry in the IONS (Institute of Noetic Sciences) "One-Minute Shift" contest. There have been some amazing entries in this contest; which makes it even more amazing that CYRES Cafe has received so many awards. The crew at CYRES — Jane, C Ann, Cristopolis — received First Place for their entry in the first contest, Second Place in the second "One-Minute Shift" contest, and Third Place for their entry in the third IONS contest. Here’s a link to their latest IONS Second-Place winning video on Cyres:

More Stuff about STUFF

There is nothing wrong with, or bad about, stuff — or wanting stuff. Wrong and bad are judgments that are simply too easy to make. All STUFF, however, does have hidden costs and consequences for us and our world. We could all be a bit more conscious of STUFF rather than being so STUFF-conscious. By this I simply mean that we could all think a little more about our impulses before we simply act on them.

True, leaving the lights on and doors open probably won’t destroy the planet; but many of the things we are currently doing are creating more and more suffering for humanity — and could eventually leave our home unsuitable for human habitation. I’m not suggesting that you rush out and change things you are doing; that probably wouldn’t really work anyway. But I am suggesting that you start thinking about these things — and even consider different ways of thinking about them. When you’ve found a better way, the change will be natural and automatic.

For instance, you don’t have to make yourself stop watching television; but if you found more productive things to do — things that you enjoy more than watching television — then you’d stop watching t.v. and it wouldn’t be a matter of stopping something you like doing. It would be a matter of spending your time doing something you’d rather be doing. All you need to do is consider something new and look for an incentive to do it; the rest comes naturally. Watch this video about STUFF and you’ll see how easy it is to get swept up by something — and how difficult it can be sometimes to realize that you are on "the wide path" to a time and place you really won’t enjoy (even though you think you are enjoying the ride to that place).

The earth will survive. Humans, however, are just another species — just like the millions of species that have already come and gone from this planet. We have hunted, fished, and harvested countless species to extinction; and, not only will we probably suffer the same fate, but our actions are making it increasingly likely that we will probably suffer extinction at the hands of the same foe — humanity. Don’t think yourself bad or wrong; just start thinking. And start thinking positively about your health and the health of the planet. As you think, so it is done. Let the change begin in your mind.

This is a great video, and it is free; so be patient if the page takes a couple minutes to load — enlightenment is always worth the wait!

Seek and You Will Find

One of the most well-known peculiarities of modern physics is a phenomenon called the “Observer Effect.” Simply put, when you observe an experiment, you change the outcome of the experiment; you cannot observe an experiment without affecting it. In the early part of the last century, physicists performed a very interesting experiment, called the “Double-slit Experiment,” in which this phenomenon can be consistently observed in a most fascinating way.

In the experiment, it was shown that the outcome of the experiment changed as the point of observation changed; when you look at the experiment from one point, a certain thing happens, and when you change perspectives, the same conditions produce different results!

You can “Google” the “Double-slit experiment” and learn more about it; but the key point is that this experiment defies linear reason and logic (indicating that there is only so far we can go with the intellect alone). The double-slit experiment proved in a highly reproducible and scientific way that you get what you’re looking for — and that it isn’t always easy to explain, or understand, the things we see.  (If you’ve never heard of this phenomenon, there is a fun and informative video at the end of this article that explains it in an easy-to-understand way.)

Live Bold!

"Life is nothing, if not a daring adventure!"  — Helen Keller

Jennifer lives by these words!  In fact, they were some of the last words she said before jumping out of an airplane flying at 12,000 ft.!  Why would she do such a thing?  Because she is one life coach that "walks the talk!"  Although Jennifer specializes in helping others overcome their fears so THEY can go do the things they’ve always wanted; she isn’t above going along on her client’s adventures to offer her support and encouragement — and to demonstrate her faith in the techniques she uses, as well as the effectiveness of "release-techniques" such as the Z-Point Process.

"I’ve always wanted to jump out of an airplane, Jenn!  Can you help me do it?  And, if I do it, will you come with me?" asked a friend (and client) of Jennifer’s.  "Sure!" answered Jenn — without blinking an eye.  Jennifer didn’t know if her friend was serious; but it really didn’t matter to someone who knows they can do anything anyone else can do!

A couple weeks later, Jennifer’s friend called and said, "I did it!  I scheduled OUR parachute jump!"  Jumping out of an airplane for the first time can be a scary thing; but, using the Z-Point Process, created by Grant Connolly, and E.F.T., created by Gary Craig, both girls were able to quickly release any fears or anxiety that arose in the two-weeks between them and their first skydiving experience — freeing them to have the time of their lives!

Randy just needs a New Dream!

When I first saw this video, I was uplifted by the words of another ["one of us…"] out there consciously creating experiences! And, as I resonated with the message, I became fond of Randy Pausch — not because of his bravery facing a diagnosis he was given, but for the bravery it takes to tell others that their dreams shape their physical world. But then, I got mad that such a nice, upbeat, creative guy was "trying" to die so young when he still had such a big message inside him — a message worth sharing.
