Create the Life of Your Dreams - In Your Sleep!
Practically anyone can conjure up the image of a child saying their prayers before going to sleep at night. "Now I lay me down to sleep," were the first words of prayer I can remember using. Thinking about your day before getting out of bed is a variation of the same principle. Do you take the time before getting up in the morning to imagine what your day might hold for you, or plan the things you want to do? You should; they say, "A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to come unraveled." But why do so many people pray in the morning and before bedtime? Does it really matter when we pray?
Thinking About Attraction - There’s More To Thinking Than Meets The Eye
Many people complain that The Secret, or The Law of Attraction, just doesn’t work for them. They exclaim, "But I am thinking about what I want; and I DID try to believe in it — but nothing happened!" Well, there’s more to thinking than meets the eye. Most people spend most of their time thinking about things they see and hear; while people who actively create the things they want in life tune-out most of the "external noise" from their environment, and think about the things we will see in the future — things they will create. Imagine the Wright brothers knowing they could fly while everyone else knew that machines couldn’t fly. There were no textbooks on aeronautical engineering, and no working, physical models for the Wright brothers to copy; yet they "saw" their airplane long before it was built — in their mind’s eye, with their imaginations. As Eleanor Roosevelt said, "The future belongs to those who Believe in the beauty of their DREAMS."
What Kind of Days Are You Attracting?
Do you wake-up in the morning dreading the day, or looking forward to it? Do you tell yourself, "It’s going to be a great day;" or, "Great, it’s another crappy day! Why did I even bother waking-up?" The way you approach your day, and the kinds of things you say about your day, and your experiences, determine a great deal of what you will experience — and the kinds of people and circumstances you attract.
Spirituality Simplified: Cause and Effect
The principle of Cause and Effect is more commonly known by the axiom “what you sow is what you reap,” and is also referred to by the slang saying, “what goes around, comes around.” It essentially means that every effect that you see or experience in the world had to have a cause. While at first glance this may appear to be a very simple and obvious concept, it has profound implications for every human being. What it means is that literally every single thought and feeling you experience is a cause that sets into motion an eventual effect. This insightful passage from Lynn Grabhorn builds upon this point:
"Every time we think of anything, we’re flowing some kind of positive or negative energy (feeling) toward whatever it is we’re thinking about, and the litany never changes: as we think, we feel; as we feel, we vibrate; as we vibrate, we attract. Then we get to live the results."
How Do I Make "The Secret" Work for Me?
The Secret isn’t a new idea; and it really isn’t even a secret. Everyone knows this: "As a man thinketh, so it is done to him." In every religion, culture, and philosophy, this is a fundamental truth; and, even science has come full-circle in its understanding of what they call, "the Observer Effect" ("Seek and you will find."). Not only do our thoughts create our experiences, our health, and our bodies; our thoughts and beliefs filter our perceptions and color the way we perceive and think about our experiences, health, body, and life in general. But consciously controlling your thoughts, and remaining conscious, are two different things; and you have to do them both — along with some other things — in order to really make "The Secret" work for you.
Thinking can be tricky business sometimes; and controlling your thoughts can be even more so. You might think you are thinking about getting money to pay debts, but all you seem to experience is more and more debt. Is your focus really on "more money," or is it on getting rid of "DEBT?" How much time do you spend thinking about what you want, as opposed to what you DON’T WANT? What you are thinking about matters; but so does HOW you are thinking, and WHY you are thinking it. Your feelings are much more important than you might have been told. Thinking about money while feeling stressed, for instance, will bring you a money-experience that makes you feel "stressed."
There are basically three-things you need to know about how those who teach the Secret (Law of Attraction) make it work for them:
Knowing Your Job; Doing "Your Part"
In life, your job is to enjoy your experience. Sometimes that means doing the best you can under any number of circumstances; but it always means doing your part. If, for some reason, you find that you are not enjoying your experience, it is up to you to take steps to change your experience. You can learn to enjoy where you are; or you can learn whatever you need to learn in order to begin "co-creating" a more enjoyable experience for yourself.
Tuning-In To Your Dreams: It’s The Thought That Counts!
If you want your dreams to come true, or want to give yourself the best opportunity to experience the reality of your desires, there are some things you can do, and some things you need to know. For starters, dreaming — and thinking, praying, meditating, etc. — are all skills that can be learned and practiced. The more you know about how your "dream machine" works, the better you will be able to use it — and the better your health, life, and experience will be, as a result. Most people simply don’t spend much time thinking about THINKING; but our thoughts are what our experience is created from — and it’s all assembled by our thinking processes.
Spirituality Simplified: Thoughts Are The “Currency of Creation”
At the fundamental level then, it is our thoughts that are the true currency of creation. This is because as children of God, we are connected to the God-Force at all times, for it is this higher intelligence that beats our hearts, digests our food, etc. Moreover, our connection to God is not simply physiologically based, but also exists at the level of mind. Our minds truly are extensions of the mind of God, and as such have enormous creative power.
According to Dr. Joseph Murphy:
"It is the world within, namely your thoughts, feelings and imagery that makes your world without. It is, therefore, the only creative power, and everything you find in your world of expression has been created by you in the inner world of your mind, consciously or unconsciously."
The preceding passage is just one of perhaps hundreds that could have been referenced regarding the creative power of thoughts. Numerous authors and sages throughout all of recorded history have made comparable statements. And this leads to an important question, which is: what is the nature of our thoughts that gives them such force?

When Things Just Won’t Seem to Work, Let-go and Let Them…
When Nothing Seems to Work
There seems to be a million different self-help, self-improvement, and life-enhancement books and programs out there; and oftentimes, none of them seem to work. As long as people have talked about the power of positive thinking, there have been people who have said, “Bah-humbug! This doesn’t work!” Have you ever wondered what makes a cynical scrooge an expert on positive thinking?
Get In-Sync with Your Dreams
Is there something you want? Do you have a dream that you would like to see come true? Do you have a prayer that you would like answered? Most people want something; though many don’t seem to know what that "something" is. Unfortunately, our "external" focus has most people thinking that "something" we are looking for is an actual "thing;" and most people spend most of their time looking to their outer world for guidance and behavioral cues — not pursuing their desires, but following "collective directives."
By "collective directives," I mean those messages we receive from "them." We are, as a culture, bombarded by words, messages, signs, voices, and images — all telling us what to do. Our collective consciousness is full of limitations that were dreamed-up, decided upon, printed-up, and put into action by a very small group of people who don’t follow those same rules, or observe the same boundaries and limitations. We believe, collectively, what we are told — collectively. And we typically do what we are told, as well. Most do, anyway… But some still dream.
