Turn your Complaints into Blessings
If your life "sucks," if you are miserable, or if you just aren’t happy with your life, there is hope. In fact, you can take the first step towards changing your life RIGHT NOW; and this will work in every area of your life. No matter what’s wrong in your life, the first step is to STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT YOUR LIFE and find something better to think and talk about.
You may be isolated and not have anyone to talk to; but you still talk to yourself. And, if your life stinks, you are probably complaining to yourself. It may seem obvious: “I’m only complaining because my life really is miserable; I wouldn’t complain if my life was good.” But that is a lie. Don’t get mad at me; you are the one lying to yourself. And the, "I will be happy when…," lie is one of the most common reasons people stay unhappy. Negative self-talk is self-destructive and self-sustaining; this is a trap you want to avoid.
CARE in Relationships
In the United States, more than half of all marriages end in divorce. I don’t know what your experience has been; but, in my experience, more than half of those who don’t divorce are unhappy, if not miserable. It is quite rare, in fact, to see older couples looking happy and healthy, holding hands, dancing, or even smiling at each other. So if you see something like that, remember it; that’s a future worth thinking about.
Growing up, I often heard the saying, "The family that prays together stays together." Yet I have seen churches full of miserable people praying their hearts out to heal their relationship — sometimes the same people I hear arguing at the ball field, the grocery store, or at a restaurant. Worse still are those who simply ignore each other — blindly gazing off into space with eyes full of remorse or resentment. They aren’t thinking the same things, or about the same future. They’re praying, alright — but not together.
It All Begins with the Answer. What do you Want?
As a follow-up to the posts, What Do You Want, The Role of The Heart in Prayer, and The Heart is the Source of Prayer, I have posted the first Section from The Belief Formula Guidebook. This guidebook is full of revelations; and this first section will really help you wrap your mind around what it is you really want. Once you really know what you really want, it is so much easier to form good prayers and strategies for doing all you can to realize your dream.
Keep in mind, most people do not think about their dreams in this kind of detail; because most people are too busy thinking about what to eat, what to do next, what to watch on television, what their kids are doing, negative news stories they are constantly being fed, worrying about money, work, their health, and scores of other things. And, as you could probably guess, most people are experiencing those things in their own lives. Most people don’t think in great detail about their Heart’s desires; and most people are not happy, healthy, and content — knowing that all prayers are answered perfectly.
If you want to change anything about the way you are feeling or living, you are going to have to change something about the way you are thinking. If you want to realize your Heart’s desires, you must learn how to think about them in a way that will somehow encourage, stimulate, or cause that to happen. The Belief Formula Guidebook is designed to help you do that; and this chapter will guide you to think about the way you think about things.
This book was offered in e-book format to people who ordered The Belief Formula on Amazon.com when it was first released; and will be available soon in print. This workbook is not currently available, but I know the guy who wrote it, so here’s the entire first section of the guidebook:
Thinking about Thinking
The Belief Formula, in a word, is about THINKING. More specifically, it is about Thinking about THINKING. According to all reliable sources, you have an infinitely powerful tool at your disposal; and most people hardly use theirs at all.
Actually, that’s not completely accurate; we all use this tool (or weapon, as the case may be…) all the time. We just don’t use it consciously or wisely all the time. This tool is our free-will to put our thoughts on anything we choose — to any degree we desire. Our thoughts affect our lives whether we consciously choose them or not; but if we consciously choose the thought, we can consciously choose the effect.
Think about it; you tend to talk about, learn about, and do those things you think about. These things, and the things you think about, make up your life experience. The quality of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts. Whether your hands are folded or not, "It’s the thought that counts."
A "Rosetta Stone"
In 1799, Napoleon’s troops discovered an artifact with the same passage of text inscribed in three different languages. Because one of the languages was known (Greek), the other languages were easily translated — including the language of Egyptian hieroglyphics. This stone, called the "Rosetta Stone" because it was found near the seaside town of Rosetta, represented a two-thousand year old bridge between languages — the same thing said in different ways — that allowed the subsequent translation of a wealth of Ancient Egyptian writings (wisdom, technology, history, etc…).
In our world, people are separated by a vast array of languages. Some people are more "visual," while others may communicate with more auditory focus, etc. Another language barrier between people who speak the same language is that some reference everything they say, or base all of their beliefs, in science, or linear logic; and others may favor religious, spiritual, or more neutral terms, to discuss the meaning of life, and the way the world seems to come into being, or operate. The fact remains that everyone is looking for what they believe is "the Truth;" some think it’s in a cloud, some think it’s in a test tube, and most just don’t think… But, whether the stories are about talking snakes, asses falling into wells, or protons, neutrons, and electrons, these are simply words different people use to talk about the same thing — where stuff (including us) comes from.

I don’t know what I don’t know; but I do know nothing.
I can tell you exactly what I know; but I cannot tell you what I do not know. I know what I was told, what I have seen and experienced, and a few other things that somehow have found their way into my head during “inspired” moments. Of course, I don’t know the true value of my knowledge; because my knowledge does not include what I do not know yet — or how much there is yet to know.
None of us knows how much we don’t know; we simply cannot know how much we don’t even know we don’t know. But people have, throughout the ages, learned how to explore that realm and bring back what was unbelievable to most — and make it a reality. While practically everyone “knew” humans could not fly; the Wright brothers searched into the unknown and found an airplane.
Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create.” If you have problems without solutions, the answer you seek is in that part of your mind where everything else you don’t know yet exists — waiting for you to discover it and bring it to life.
The Power of Prayer in Every Bite!
I recently had the pleasure of eating in a local restaurant called, "BJ’s Kitchen and Catering." BJ’s is owned by Bettie Jean and Milton Robinson, and offers wonderful home-cooking with love in every bite. Our hostess was a delightful young woman we took to be in college due to her maturity and professionalism; we later found out she was the ninth-grade niece of Milton and Bettie.
Besides the wonderful (and comforting) food, and friendly, helpful people, there was an obvious feeling of peace and relaxation in this place. Overall, the experience was excellent. Jennifer asked for a buffet menu — so she could see what was offered through the week — and they didn’t have any copies left. Milton immediately went to the print shop and, before we had finished what was on our plate, had returned with Jennifer’s menu.
It was extra meaningful that he did that, because on the menu is the story of how a prayer became a reality; and it is a perfect example of not only The Belief Formula, but of the power of prayer to create reality from our thoughts and desires — in the right time and in the right way. Here’s the story from BJ’s menu:
Enlightenment in the Mirror
So, do you want to know how to make yourself really fat and miserable — and stay that way? It’s actually pretty simple; so simple, in fact, most women (and some men) already use this technique unconsciously. Here’s how it works:
1. Stand in front of the mirror.
2. Notice all the things about yourself that you do not like.
3. Hate what you see in the mirror — or what you look like.
4. Think about how overweight, fat, out-of-shape, or ugly you think you are — or think your body is.
5. (FOR ADVANCED STUDENTS ONLY!) Breathe life into your curses, foul-thoughts, and negative self-talk by speaking them out loud. Openly criticize yourself; and, for super-fast action, talk this way where others can hear you!
I told you it was simple. In fact, I bet you’re already doing it — or at least practicing some of these techniques. It only takes a few heavy, burdensome thoughts to make your body heavy and burdensome. Heavy thoughts = Heavy body.
The Mind-"Booty" Connection
Lately, there has been a lot of discussion about the mind-body connection. Of course, this discussion has been going on for thousands of years; and the new consensus matches the old — there really is no "connection" — the mind and body are the same. The body is simply the visible repository for those things we hold in our mind; the body is the physical representation, or reflection of, the mind.
In a way, though, I still say they are connected simply because of this obvious RELATIONSHIP — which, to me, implies "Connection." At any rate, the shape of your body — and the size of your booty — is intimately related to the shape of your mind and thoughts. If your mind is cluttered with old junk-thoughts, so will your body and life be cluttered with old junk. Keep your mind, body, and life fresh; change your mind often.
